1. added loops to the ties - making it easier to attach the ties to hooks on the suction cups.
2. added a loop & tie to the center of the sheet - to reduce the sag in the middle (we ran a rope through the loop) - this is especially useful on larger sheets. (see illustration below)
Here is a mini-tutorial for making the tie-loop combo:
I have added these changes to the original post.
I just wanted you to know I loved this tutorial and am so glad you shared!! I did a couple of these for some families we had for Christmas and they were the perfect gift as they were cheap, easy and fun!

I made a fort kit for my nephews for christmas after seeing your post. The funny part was their Gramma did the same thing! She sent just a sheet though. She folded down each corner about an inch and did the same thing half way between each corner. It made for a simple, but sturdy way to thread the ropes through that we strung up.
ReplyDeletefolding the corners is a great idea, I just might have to try that! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. However, my old brain can't figure out what the rope is suppose to be for???
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to figure out just what besides sheets and hooks i can throw in a fort kit for my little guy for Christmas. Thanks for the jump start!
